- 3 --- cups of Self Raising flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 50 grams cold butter, diced
- 1-2 tablespoons vegemite
- 200 grams grated cheese
- 1/2 cup milk (approx)

I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
1. Grate cheese in TM, reserve.
2. Preheat oven to 200deg celcius.
3. add SR Flour, salt and butter to thermomix, blitz speed 6 for 7-10 seconds, or until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
4. add in 1/4 cup of milk, and stir"Gentle stir setting" /5-10 seconds until milk is absorbed and it resembles dough. You may need more milk, just add a little at a time through the lid. Don't over work the dough too much as the less time the better/fluffier the dough.
5. spread out on to thermomat and spread out to a long rectangle, about 15-20 by 35-40 cm, about 1/2cm thick.
6. spread vegemite over the dough, and sprinkle 3/4 of the cheese.
7. roll up the scroll.
8. cut into 1 inch slices.
9. Arrange on to a lined tray close together and sprinkle remainder of cheese.
10. Bake for 15mins, or until scrolls are all golden brown.
Tip
Variations:
1. Use tomato paste instead of vegemite and make it a pizza scroll with some chopped ham, pineapple, capsicum etc.
2. Make it a cinnamon scroll by mixing some butter, brown sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl and spreading over the dough.
3. Spread brown sugar and dried mixed fruit over the dough and roll for a sweet scroll.

I also added more milk and used the knead function. Otherwise very yummy.
Hi there, worked great with a few changes!
All the same to start, but Instead of stirring I used the knead function (TM5) for 120 sec, poured in milk through top while mixing, in 1/4 cup increments for a total of about 1 1/4 cups until dough started to come together, and when it came together as a ball I stopped it.
Rolled out, filled and baked, turned out lovely. I split into 2 and did half savoury and half sweet, perfect!

Wish I had read the commenst before diving into this one too. Like many others this was a disaster. Quantities and times all incorrect. All into the bin.
Worked terribly for new! I added waybover a cup of milk I got do frustrated ended up just making a long log of Vegemite and cheese with mixture glooped around it. Cooking in my oven though. Should be interesting.

Was in a hurry to feed cranky kids. All this recipe did was waste 3 cups of flour and 10 minutes of my time.
I found this needed a lot more milk than what the recipe says. I must have put in around 1.5 cups.
Agree with Nonnuls, sorry didn't really work out. Tried it this morning. The stirring in with 1/4 cup milk and then add to about 1/2 cup didn't do anything in terms of combining the fine bread crumb dough. Stirring was not strong enough as it got stuck at the bottom of bowl and still need to be transferred out on mat and knead a bit and still very crumbly as 1/2 cup milk is not sufficient. So I ended up with crumbly dough that didn't roll out too good.
Portion and timing does not work.
sorry but this was terrible. proportions all out and timing didnt work. didnt even bother cooking the dough as it felt terrible and was hard.
I have made scrolls many times using plain flour and yeast. This recipe was by far fluffier and lighter. The kids gobbled it down! Will definitely make again!
