Ingredients

Apple pie sorbet

  • 3 Granny Smith Apples Cored, Approx 300g
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  • 1 pinch cinamon
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1000 grams Frozen Milk in ice trays
  • 100 grams sugar

Recipe's preparation

    Brontes Apple Pie Sorbet
  1. Preheat oven to 150 degrees

    Place apples into a baking dish and sprinkle with Sugar, Nutmeg and Cinnamon placing a small portion of butter in the centre of each apple.

    Pour water into baking dish.

    Bake for 40 minutes in the oven.

    Place sugar into the TM bowl and mill 10 seconds/ speed 10.

    Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add chilled apples to tm bowl and blend 10 seconds / speed 5.

    Add frozen milk ice cubes to TM bowl and blend for 1 minute 30 seconds / speed 10 using the spatula to assist in moving the Sorbet around.

    Serve immediately.

Tip

Freeze left overs in shallow lamington tin and blend in TM before serving.

Works just as well with frozen ice.

Mix half coconut milk and half milk for a slightly coconutty flavour.

    As per another comment, I steamed the apples in the varoma before making the sorbet. Was made for a group of friends, who all enjoyed it. Next time I think I would add a little bit more spice, but that's because I like lots of flavour.

    Delicious! Very easy and yum! I was lazy and froze and whole 1L long life milk and then broke it down before blending tmrc_emoticons.) Only issue I had was it didnt say how much water to add to the baking tray so I just covered the base and then it didnt say wether to drain the apples before adding so I added the apples with the liquid, all worked out perfectly.

    Delicious. I couldn't find the apple corer so just quartered them and cooked them in the microwave. Love the flavour.

    Did this at a Cooking Class and very tasty. I didn't core apples, steamed them in the Varoma for about 15 minutes and used chia seeds with the sugar as the 'fluff'. Worked a treat.
