This is so delicious I've made two batches in two days. I love that it doesn't use refined sugar.

We all liked this recipe better than with white/raw sugar! Thanks for sharing!  tmrc_emoticons.)

You are quite right about it not being totally sugar free but in this case it doesn't have the "white stuff" that a lot of us are avoiding these days.  We avoid these refined sugars as they are processed foods and are both not good for anyone and really bad for your pancreas. In the case of Fructose Malabsorptio, just one more recipe that's not going to fit the bill. On the up-side most of us are quite happy to consume fructose and the other sugars you mentioned but not the cane sugar.

Got really excited until I realised this is not even close to sugar free. Dates are exceptionally high in fructose, a type of sugar. Was hoping to make for my daughter with Fructose Malabsorption, but have yet again been fooled by people who think refined sugar free and sugar free are the same thing. If it has fruit, honey, maple syrup, dates or any other type of sugar in a recipe, it cannot be sugar free.
