I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Chop onion and garlic for 3 seconds, speed 7. Add olive oil and saute for 3 minutes at 120 degrees (or Varoma for TM31) on speed 1 with MC off.
Add beef and cook for 5 minutes at 120 degrees (or Varoma TM31), speed "Gentle stir setting" on "Counter-clockwise operation" .
Stir well with spatula, and insert butterfly. (Make sure you turn it a fraction clockwise so it is locked in). Add carrot, potatoes, peanut butter, kecap manis, sweet chilli sauce, coconut cream, water and stock.
Cook for 15 minutes on 100 degrees,"Counter-clockwise operation" , speed one with steamer basket on top in place of MC.
Place remaining vegetables into Varoma dish. Put Varoma dish into place and cook a further 20 minutes at Varoma temperature, "Counter-clockwise operation" , speed one. Increase cooking time by 5 minutes if your vegies or meat aren't done to your liking.
Mix all together in your Thermoserver and serve with rice.
Tip
We don't like our food to be spicy, so this is very mild, but tasty. Increase the chilli to your liking!
I have made this in both my TM5 and TM31. Using the Varoma for extra vegies allows you to really 'bulk' this up without overflowing your bowl.
If you want to substitute chicken for the beef, just add the cubed chicken breast to the bowl when you put the Varoma on the top, as it needs a much shorter cooking time.

TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

THIS WAS AMAZING!!
Everyone loved it even my 4 and 7 year olds! It will become a weekly staple! I want to try it with chicken next time.
The only thing I did differently is instead of 50g kecap manis i used 50g tamari.
Loved it!!!
YUMMO! Will add a little more chilli next time - this recipe is definitely a keeper.
Easy peasy!!
Enjoyed this thoroughly and bonus the kids ate it too.
We’ll be doing this again.
Thanks for sharing.
Remove kepcap manis and add a bit more chilli.
After reading previous comments on this dish I decided to cut the beef & vegetables in larger chunks, didn’t use the butterfly whisk, used the "Gentle stir setting" instead of speed 1 where it said to and used a 270ml can of coconut milk instead of 155g of coconut cream and 155g of water. The meal was fantastic I also added a deseeded long green chilli as we like it a bit hotter, but next time I think I’ll add a couple of red chilies or maybe a birdseye chilli
Loved it! This one has been added to favourites. My 2 & 3 year olds loved it too! The mild flavour was just perfect for them.
Had difficulty with the butterfly whisk so after reading other comments I’ll not use it next time.
Beautiful flavour & consistency. Will add some curry powder or chilli next time for a bit of a spicy hit. Loved how the veggies really bulked it up & made it a more healthy meal. Thanks
DH says good,
Had seconds.
Added choko & cauliflower.
Next time I'll use a bit less water to make sauce thicker. Cooked all veg in bowl for 15 mins only. Served with black rice.
