Ingredients

  • 1 medium brown onion, Approx 100g
  • 300-500 g Diced beef strips
  • 1 teaspoon cracked pepper, (Approx)
  • 380 g tomato passata, (Rinse bottle and add water used to rinse to thermi)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon raw sugar
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Stock Concentrate (EDC)

Extra 3 Tbs water

  • 30 g light thickened cream

Recipe's preparation

    Beef stroganoff
  1. Add onion to thermi and chop speed 7 - 3 seconds, scrape down and repeat.

     

    Cook onion - 120 degrees 3 mins 30 seconds speed 1.

     

    While onion cooks, dice beef into small cubes and sprinkle cracked pepper over the top.

     

    When the onion is finished cooking - add beef & all other ingredients except cream to thermi. 

     

    Cook 30 minutes 120 degrees Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"  Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" .

     

    Scrape down bowl and add 3 Tbs water.

     

    Continue cooking for a further 15 minutes 90 degrees Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" . With 5 mins remaining - stop blades, weigh in 30g light cream, then continue cooking for 5 minutes.

     

    Serve on a bed of mashed potato, rice, pasta or steamed vegetables.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
