I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Peel and cut the onion into quarters and place in TM bowl with the garlic. Add Parsely & Basil too, Chop on speed 5 for 5 seconds.
Use your TM spatula to scrape the onion and garlic down and then add oil and saute' for 2 mins, 100deg, speed 1, reverse "Counter-clockwise operation"
Add diced beef, to TM bowl. Saute' for another 2mins, 100deg, reverse "Counter-clockwise operation" , speed soft "Gentle stir setting"
Add add all other ingredients, except carrots, zuchinni & celery and start cooking for 60 mins, 100deg, reverse, speed soft "Gentle stir setting"
Prepare your carrots, zuchini and celery and add to the bowl through the hole in the lid in the last 20min of cooking time.
You can add other vegies as desired eg capsicum and frozen peas a little later.
Once ready i remove to thermo servier the cook my mash. Serve with mashed potato. I added pumpkin and /or sweet potato to our mash. Can be served with rice.
The red lentils will thicken the stew as it cooks. As the liquid contents of meat and vegetables varies, you may have more liquid than you want. The excess can be reduced by tilting the MC (cap) onto an angle for the last 15 mins of cooking time. We love the gravy and mop it up with the mash or bread rolls

red lentils well hidden from the children which worked well!,
Very nice. I left the chick peas out and the red lentils thickened it just nicely.
I absolutely love this recipe! I didn't have chickpeas so just left them out.. winner in my house!
There was no oil amount on the indredients list, I used 40g worth and it worked out fine.
I found I needed to put in some stock too - I suspect it may have been missed off the list too - as it got too thick for the TM5 to stir properly and the meat got shredded a bit too much for my liking. I realised about 25 minutes in, as the lentils started to thicken, that something was wrong.I quickly whipped up some stock and added 350ml of beef stock and it worked out fine. I tried the recipe again with the 350ml stock but this time I added it up front and the meat came out cube shaped as expected.Adjust amount of stock to suit your preference.
