Mock Chicken Chow Mein

  • 500 grams chicken mince
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 3 tablespoons Uncooked rice
  • 3 stalks Celery, chopped
  • 375 grams cabbage, Shredded
  • 750 grams water
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 125 grams fresh beans, optional

    Mock Chicken Chow Mein
  1. Roughly Chop Celery 3-4 sec, speed 4.

    set aside.

    Roughly Chop Cabbage 3-4 sec, speed 4.

    set aside.

    Chop Onions 3 sec, speed 7 and sauté 3 min, varoma, speed 1, in the Oil, .



    Add in all ingredients and simmer gently, 30 min, 98C, Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" , Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" .

Tip

Cook's notes

Oven temperatures are for conventional; if using fan-forced (convection), reduce the temperature by 20˚C.

We use Australian tablespoons and cups: 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml; 1 tablespoon equals 20 ml; 1 cup equals 250 ml.

All herbs are fresh (unless specified) and cups are lightly packed.

All vegetables are medium size and peeled, unless specified.

All eggs are 55-60 g, unless specified.

    Created a delicious meal for 3 adults and 3 kids.  I added a zucchini and a carrot as well and blitzed them for extra hidden veg.
