I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

    Potato Mix
  1. Grate potatoes 12sec/sp5.
Place into a clean tea towel and squeeze out liquid.
Add egg, parmesan, and salt n pepper to taste and mix together with a fork, set aside.

  2. Mince Mix
  3. If you are mincing your own meat, 12sec/sp6 - set aside.
Place onion, carrot and herbs in bowl and chop 6sec/sp7.
    Add oil and sauté 2min/120deg/sp1.
Add mince, stock, tomato paste and spinach leaves- cook 10min/100deg/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" /sp1.
Strain mince mix in simmer basket till no liquid remains.

  4. Making your bombs
  5. Using a small cereal bowl, place gladwrap into the bowl- generously overlapping the top. Place a quarter of the potato Mix into the bowl and spread out to the sides using a fork.
Sprinkle a handful of tasty cheese in the centre and spoon a quarter of the mince mix on top.

  6. Use the sides of the gladwrap to lift and form a ball. Bring the sides together to join at the centre and twist to seal.
    Refrigerate for 30min.
Pre heat oven to 180deg. Remove gladwrap and place on greased baking tray and bake for 40min or till golden!

    Serve with homemade ketchup!

Tip

If Potato Mix seems dry and isn’t sticking together, add an extra egg.

Sweet potatoes can be used in place of potatoes for lower carb.

Extra veggies can be added in mince mix

Also great using other protein- turkey, chicken, lamb, venison etc!

I always have a grated cheese stash in my freezer ready to go for baking! Grate your cheese in the thermomix and divide into snap lock bags and freeze! (Pre packaged grated cheese contains lots of nasties!!)

Recipe has been tweaked and adapted for thermomix. This version is great for kids and can be preservative and hormone free if all components are homemade and quality organic/free range ingredients used!

Thermomix Model

  • Appliance TM 5 image
    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
