I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

    burger patties
  1. process slightly frozen meat in two batches on speed 7 for 2 seconds. Check and process a second longer to achieve a coarse mince. set aside

Process onion, herbs and beetroot on speed 5 for 4-5 seconds to achieve a small grate.

Return mince and remaining ingredients to bowl and process on locked lid,  interval speed for 1 minute.

shape mix into six plump patties and refrigerate until ready to use (sooner is better so that the onion doesn't  bleed).

Barbeque patties on a medium high heat for 5-8 minutes each side. They will still appear very pink in the middle because of the beetroot, so be careful not to overcook based on colour or they will be dry and chewy.

  2. delicious burgers!
  3. kids love to have control, so here I lay the table with toasted buns, crumbled fetta, hummus (from everyday cookbook), shredded iceberg, baby spinach leaves, roma tomato slices, fried eggs home made barbeque sauce, go crazy and let everyone create and enjoy their own masterpiece.

I was lucky to stop my Finn eating for long enough to let me take a shot!

Tip

fresh raw beetroot is filled with betalains and carotenoids. Super duper antioxidants and cancer fighting goodies. cooking in this way contains all those goodies and hides a veggie that kids might otherwise reject. win win!

Awesome recipe, its was so easy and simple to make and tasted great. I cheated and used already minced lamb and just did a salad on side with no buns tmrc_emoticons.)

These were so delicious! Yum!! I only  made the patties and then made up my own burgers. I had a normal brown onion so i used this instead of the Spanish onion. used mint and coriander. Loved the slight crunch of the beetroot. Will definitely make these again soon!

I loved these! I made a lot so we could freeze some patties and use in lunches throughout the week. I might have been a tad heavy handed on the breadcrumbs,  but they were still delicious and filling! We cooked  ours on the BBQ and they held together well.

These are so yummy! I find they burn too much on our BBQ or in a pan, so we brown them in the pan first for a couple of minutes, then 20 minutes in the oven at 180. Delish and the whole family loves them, young and old.
