    Step 1
  1. Add chopped beetroot and onion
Turbo chop 2sec twice. Less or more depending on personal preference but twice usually gets it all minced. Use spatula to scrap down sides

  2. Step 2
  3. Add remaining ingredients excluding thickening ingredients. Place simmer baskets on lid.

    45-60 mins / 120°c / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 0.5

  4. Step 3
  5. Add thickening ingredients, stir with spatula and cook
    2mins / 100°c / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 1-2

  6. Step 4
  7. Add to sterilized jars.

  8. This is a sweet chutney with a strong vinegar taste. Big hit with most who love pickles etc. Can adjust sugar and vinegar content to suit.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Spitha: awesome thanks for the feedback! I had to do a lot of tweaking to the recipe to make it thermomix friendly so was unsure if it would be too much for a tm31 tmrc_emoticons.)

Thank you for the recipe. My husband loved it. I had to change the ingredient measurements, as I have the old TM31.
