Recipe's preparation

    Cooking Capsciums
  1. Working in batches, place the capsicums and peppers directly over a low gas flame and cook, turning often, for 8-10 minutes until they are well charred all over.
    Or
You can pop them into the oven, turning them occasionally until they are charred.
    or
You can do this over summer by drying them out in the sun for a couple of days.

Let them stand for 20 minutes then remove the black char.

  2. After you have removed the skin, pop them into the machine along with all the ingreidents. I add chilli in mine. This is optional

5 seconds/speed 5. scrape down the mixing bowl and repeat

Once a paste has formed, place simmering basket ontop and cook for 60minutes/90*/speed 2

If you would like it thicker, cook for an additional 15min/90*/speed 2

Allow mixture to cool and place into sterilised Jar. Add a splash of olive oli on top and pop in the fridge for upto 6 weeks

Tip

This receipe can be doubled. Cook 1.5hours or until a thick paste has formed

    TM 6
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
