I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place all ingredients into bowl.

Cook 9 mins 90c Speed 4. Without measuring cup.

Allow to Cool. Will thicken on standing.

Spoon into container  and store in fridge until needed.

Tip

I use this caramel condensed milk in my Homemade Fudge recipe instead of buying condensed milk. This makes one large jar, bigger than the one in the photo.

A great way to clean the bowl....add 250ml milk. Alternate forward and reverse speed 4 for 2 minutes. Voila....Caramel milk and an easy to clean bowl

I'll post my fudge recipe soon.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Truely disgusting! Grainy texture, just tasted of milk powder. Everything about it was horrid. Hubby and kids spat it out.

pktick: I've not tried doubling quantities, if you do, let me know how it goes. This amount fills a Ball cutglass mason jar 8oz size and almost fills the 4oz jar too. Approx 12oz which is around 340g.

Could this be doubled? Is it approximately equivalent to 1 tin top n fill?

Great recipe! So quick and easy. I used it as part of a cake filler and it was delicious. I didn't have the coconut syrup so just omitted it. Thanks for sharing.

Yum this is devine,  I didn't have coconut syrup so just left it out,  and was very yummy,  thickens up amazingly.

Can you please post your fudge recipe so I can make this to use in it. Thanks tmrc_emoticons.)

Coconut sugar works perfectly too Mummamoo.

I've not made caramel scrolls with this mixture so not sure if it would work but just a note this does thicken substantially on cooling. Hope it works for you.

would coconut sugar work in place of the Rapdura?

Is this caramel a good consistency for caramel scrolls?

Thank you this was great!!!!!' I didn't have any coconut nectar so made it without and it was still great!  I used it in the Scottish tablet recipe instead of condensed milk.  http://www.recipecommunity.com.au/baking-sweet-recipes/scottish-tablet-crumbly-caramel-fudge/281742

Made this for our waffle evening last night.  Came out really nice and was even better in the morning after standing overnight.  Will definately make again.  Thanks for sharing.
