I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Place onion and garlic in bowl and chop 3 sec/speed 5.
Scrape down sides of bowl. Add capsicum and olive oil. Saute for 5 min/100 C/"Counter-clockwise operation" /"Gentle stir setting" measuring cup removed.
Add crushed tomatoes, salt, sugar, paprika, chili powder and water. Cook 12 min/100 C/"Counter-clockwise operation" /"Gentle stir setting" with simmering basket sitting on top of lid. Serve hot or cold.
Tip
This versatile sauce is ideal for serving with tacos, nachos or enchiladas.
I like to chop the capsicum by hand for a chunky consistency however you can add it to the onion and garlic in step 1 if you'd prefer to save time. You could also use fresh chili instead of powder and chop with the onion and garlic.

Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Great sauce, followed the comments, thank you
I found this a bit too sweet. Next time I would put in half of the sugar.
Absolutely love this! I also leave the water out for a thicker consistency.
A great quick & tasty taco sauce recipe thank you! Hadn’t read comments until now as it was an impromptu Mexican dinner with extended family (hence no jar of sauce in the cupboard) but I like the sound of the chicken tacos...could be using leftovers for that tonight I think!

Love this. We prefer it a bit thicker so I leave the water out.
Love this!
Really nice. I didn't add salt or sugar and it was still lovely.
Great recipe, and I used my TM31
I read the tips and comments then used a red chili at step one, can of kidney beans at the last stage. In a Thermoserver, mixed in 200gm of chopped chicken pieces (grilled in a TM Mexican spice mix). Then topped with cheese, melted under oven grill. Added guacamole and thick yoghurt. Best nachos we've ever had. Thank You!
Delicious. No need to buy taco sauce again.
Wow, just wow!
way better than the shop packets.
will never turn back now XD
HUGE hit with the hubby and kids!
