TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

This is our family's favourite thermomix soup.
i pre soak the barley, omit pumpkin and parsnip and add zucchini.
This was absolutely delicious! Have struggled with soup recipes in my thermomix but this will be my go-to from now on!
This was a rough soup - I couldn't finish eating it. Most ingredients were undercooked, despite being in the Thermo for an hour or so. The vegetables were hard and the bacon was crap. I'm lucky I bought a pre-cooked BBQ chook, so at least something was nicely cooked in it. I'd recommend roasting the veg and cooking the bacon in a fry pan first. It's not worth it otherwise.
I make this soup every single week it is an absolute favourite of mine! No adjustments needed xx
Loved this
What a great recipe and base recipe. Can add/omit and it works. I didn't use bacon, potato or pumpkin, only 1/2 the amount of chicken, added an extra carrot, and in the last 1/2 hour about 11/2 cups of frozen beans, and it is a hearty meal in itself. I added a little more water after cooking to make a slightly thinner consistency, but this is the recipe I've been searching for. Thanks for sharing.
great soup love it.

Made this soup today, perfect for this chilly winters day. Flavour is Devine! Didn't have the parsnip so used two carrots, absolutely delicious! Will definitely be a regular on our menu 😊
