Ingredients

  • 30 grams Butter
  • 1 brown onion (medium), peeled and quartered
  • 1 rasher bacon, diced
  • 1000 grams butternut pumpkin, peeled, chopped into 3cm cubes
  • 200 grams potato, peeled, chopped into 3cm cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried marjoram Leaves
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayene pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 600 grams Liquid Chicken Stock
  • 250 grams cream cheese, softened, cubed

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place onion into mixing bowl.

    Chop 5 sec/speed 5/MC on. Scrape bowl down.

  2. Add butter and bacon.

    Saute 5 min/100degrees/speed 1.

  3. Add remaining ingredients (except cream cheese).

    Cook for 30 min/100degrees/speed 1/MC on.

  4. Blend 1 min/speed 5 - 9, increasing gradually.

  5. Add softened cubes of cream cheese.

    Stir until melted 2 min/speed 3.

Tip

Serve with fresh crusty bread.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
