Recipe's preparation

  1. Add almonds to bowl
  2. Add water to bowl
  3. Steam 5 mins/Varoma/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" /Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting"
    Put steaming basket on top to avoid splatter
  4. Drain almonds and water through steaming basket
  5. Rub almonds either by hand or with a tea towel to remove almond skins
  6. Blanched almonds can be used straight away or dehydrate to store for later use.

    *Make sure almonds are completely dry before milling*
  7. Dehydrating freshly blanched almonds
  8. Use a dehydrator

    Place in oven at lowest possible temperature for 30 mins

    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.     If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

    Thank you for recipe to blanch almonds, straight forward. Also the tips how to dry, wonderful. I have processed 500g almonds now, so much cheaper than buying.
