Hi Marg, excited to try this tmrc_emoticons.) I also wonder do you mean add the pods at the end when you say add bean scrapes.

Also how much does this roughly make? Thankyou tmrc_emoticons.)

Hi Marg Cooking 7 - What do you mean by the "bean scrapes" ? Are you talking about the seeds inside the pods or do you use the vanilla pods too? I have been looking for homemade vanilla essence for a while so was glad to find this one - congrats on making it BTW!

    Looking forward to your comments.

Can you please explain what adding the bean scrapes mean?  Is this different from the seeds in the middle? I haven't used a vanilla pod before.  Also what quantity does this make?  Thanks

    Hi Lynette

I keep my essence in the fridge and use it very regularly.  I add the brandy to preserve it a bit longer.

It gets used up in a few weeks because I love vanilla essence.

    See how you go. Marg

I am just wondering how long this mixture will last for.
