Apple Almond Tart
- 11/2 cups plain flour
- 2 tablespoons icing sugar
- 140 grams Butter, chopped
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 6 green apples, peeled, coarsely chopped
- 1 teaspoons vanilla essence
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 tablespoons castor sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 125 grams Butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup castor sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup almond meal
- 1/4 cup almonds, flaked

- Grease a 22cm round loose based flat tin.
Combine flour and icing sugar in TM bowl. Add butter and combine until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Add egg yolk, water and vanilla essence and mix until ingredients come together.
Transfer dough to greased tin and with fingers press into the base of prepared tin. Place tin on an over tray. Cover, refrigerate for 30 minutes while you prepare filling. - APPLE FILLING
Combine apples, vanilla, water and sugar in a large pan, cook, stirring occasionally for about 20 minutes or until apples are tender. Cool.
ALMOND TOPPING
Beat butter and sugar in TM bowl until pale, beat in eggs and almond meal
Spread one third of the Almond Topping evenly over base. Top with Apple Filling, then spread remaining Almond Topping over top. Sprinkle with flaked almonds.
Cook in a moderate over 180oC for 45 minutes or until cooked when tested and golden brown on the top.
Stand for 10 minutes before cutting. Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve with ice cream or warm custard.

Yummy but not written as a Thermomix recipe. No speeds, times etc and cooking the apple in a saucepan 🙄
Absoloutely delicious. I made in a slightly larger tin, 25cm wide, worked fine. Then in a 22cm tin, and put the pastry up the sides of the tin, like a pie; otherwise the pastry would have been too thick. I also saved time by using tinned pie apple, which worked fine.
