Ingredients

  • 130 grams natural yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon tumeric
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons Grated fresh ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1000 grams chicken breast fillets, chopped
  • 100 grams Cashews, plus extra for garnish
  • 60 grams unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
  • 1 onion, peeled and halved
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 indian bay leaf
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 425 gram can tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon chicken or veg stock paste, from BCB
  • 130 grams water
  • 230 grams thickened cream
  • rice, to serve

Recipe's preparation

  1. Combine yoghurt, lemon juice, turmeric, garam masala, chilli powder, cumin, ginger and garlic in bowl. Add chicken and stir until covered. Cover and refridgerate over night for most flavour, or for at least several hours. 

     

     

  2. Place cashews in bowl, process for 8 secs/sp 7. Remove from bowl and set aside. 

     

     

  3. Place onion in bowl, process for 5 secs/sp 5. Add butter, oil, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf and saute for 3 mins/120C/sp 1. 

     

     

  4. Add chicken, marinade, paprika, tomato puree, cashew powder, stock paste and water to bowl. Cook 17 min/100C/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" /sp 1. 

     

     

  5. Add cream to bowl and cook 4 mins/100C/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" /sp 1. 

     

     

  6. Serve with rice and sprinkled with extra cashews. 

Tip

Time stated does not include marinating time. 

Do not increase any of the ingredients in this recipe or it will not fit in the bowl.
