Ingredients

Layelle's Orange and Poppy Seed Cake

  • 50 grams fresh orange juice
  • 130 grams raw sugar, can substitute for coconut sugar
  • 2 navel oranges zest, Grated
  • 50 grams Milk
  • 150 grams unsalted butter, room temperature, cut in small pieces
  • 150 grams plain flour
  • 1 level tablespoons baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 20 grams poppy seed, OPTIONAL

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Preheat fan forced oven to 180*.
    2. Line baking paper in a 20cm springform pan.
    3. Grate the skin of 2 large oranges staright into TM bowl.
    4. Add Raw Sugar, Plain Flour and Baking Powder into TM Bowl. Mill for 20 seconds/Speed 9.
    5. Add fresh orange juice, milk, eggs and butter. Mix 30 seconds/Speed 5.

    6. Add 20 g of poppy seeds and mix well with spatula. (OPTIONAL STEP)
    7. Pour batter into pan and cook for approx 35 minutes.

Tip

#Can be poured into cupcake pan and cooked for approx 15 minutes if you prefer.

# You can use the cookidoo cream cheese frosting recipe and add zest and a dash of fresh juice to top the cake with. (enough to cover 2 cakes or half the recipe)
