Recipe's preparation

  1. Add ingredients, then mix 10 seconds / speed 4.
  2. Select Warm Up Mode / 40°.
  3. Decant into jars/containers & place in Varoma.
  4. Rinse your Thermomix bowl & add 250g water, plus a dash of lemon juice, vinegar or absorbic acid.
  5. With your Varoma in place, set Fermentation Mode / 8+ hours / 70°, or until set (ferment longer if needed).
  6. Once done, place yoghurt into the refrigerator to chill & further thicken.

Tip

Tip: don't forget to set a small portion of your yoghurt aside (fridge or freezer) to use as a 'starter' for your next batch!

Full fat ingredients are reccomended.

Yes you can double the ingredients to make a BIG batch! Simply use a large container that fits inside your Varoma.

If using fresh milk, heat milk 10 min / 90°C / speed 2, then allow the milk to cool to 40° or below before starting the recipe.

You can ferment your yoghurt for 8-24 hours. The longer you ferment, the more tart (& healthier) your yoghurt will be.

If you'd like to experiment, you could add a beautiful fruit coulis/jam to the bottom of your jar, before you add the yoghurt mix!

    TM 6
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Thanks Lailah Rose - OMG we LOVE this yohurt! I've been popping in some freeze dried berries, and also tried some freeze dried powder into one lot, straight into the jars before fermenting. It all floats to the top but Oh my word , a good stir and you have fabulous fruity yoghurt with a bit less sugar than using coulis (I'm T1 diabetic). Love Love Love!

My go to youghurt recipe. Make it regularly as kids are big youghurt fans.

Delicious & so easy to make. I have made this 3 times without variation all were perfect. I have also varied with one batch, deleting the milk powder & using light milk - this batch whilst less creamy, was still a very nice yoghurt
