Recipe's preparation

    Soak
  1. Place almonds into a large jar fill jar with filtered water.

Let almonds soak overnight. At least 12 hours but can be up to 24.

  2. Blend and strain
  3. Once almonds have finished soaking, drain and rinse them.

Place almonds into TM bowl and add 1.2 litres of filtered water.

Add vanilla, salt and honey. Place MC into lid and blend 1 minute, speed 10.

Pour mix slowly through muslin cloth into desired container and empty almond pulp into seperate container at regular intervals. (you may want to use a funnel if using a bottle for the milk)

Gently squeeze all milk from the pulp in the cloth til it is almost dry.

Tip

There is no waste in this recipe! Use up the leftover almond pulp in baking anywhere where almond meal would feature. Makes a delicious gluten free biscuit!

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Yum! I love the idea of adding vanilla to my almond milk! && it's great I don't have to throw out the pulp.

Do you peel the almonds before blending?
