I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1.       Put Yeast and yoghurt in Thermo (Speed 1, 2 min, 37o )

    2.       Add plain flour

    3.       Knead 3 minutes – adding enough water so that it forms a ball

    4.       Rise until it doubles (2*)

    5.       Knead 1 minute (3*)

    6.       Roll out (or flatten out with your hands) walnut size dough to about ¾ cm high

    7.       Cook on hot dry bbq plate until brown on both sides (4*)

    8.       Brush with melted butter (and garlic chives) on one side and keep warm in thermo server

Tip

(1)you can use anywhere between 20g and 200g of yoghurt just make the rest up with water)

I used 200g as that’s what size the pot of yoghurt was and I wasn’t going to be using it for anything else

(2) I leave it in the thermo bowl because I am lazy (you can put it in an oiled bowl and cover with glad wrap or wrap in a thermo silicon mat)

If you don’t want to wait an hour for it to double in size – put it in a warm spot

A car out in the sun is a really good spot and will only take about 15 min to double in size

(3) you can do this by hand if you are using the Thermo for something else

(4) you can cook in a hot dry drying pan instead of the BBQ – it puffs up and looks really cool J

a)      You can freeze the dough after stage 5 (or even half of it) just wrapped in glad wrap

When you want to use it again – pull it out of the freezer and let it get to room temperature, repeat step 5 and continue

(I have taken mine out of the freezer this morning and put it on a plate in the fridge, when I get home I will put it on the kitchen bench for an hour or so until I roll it out, dry fry, butter and eat)

b)      You can also freeze after you have cooked them (but don’t brush with butter)

Defrost either in microwave or on the bench then brush with butter

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Thank you. We make this regularly now- Perfect accompaniment to any curry. Nom nom nom!!

Tip: It tastes extra awesome if you throw in some garlic cloves to taste (we do 3) at the beginning, before starting the rest of the recipe:

Chop garlic: approx 4 sec, speed 9
We ran out of garlic cloves tonight however, so I'm trying 1tsp garlic powder instead

and then cook on the BBQ when done!Cooking 1
