Ingredients

Dough

  • 300 g plain flour
  • 100 g margarine, lactose free
  • 160 g Milk, lactose free
  • 1 pinches salt

Vegemite variant

  • 1 level tbsp vegemite, (or to desired thickness)
  • 250 g cheese, shredded, (2 cups) lactose free

Italian herbs & cheese variant

  • 2 sachets tomato paste, (or 2 tablespoons)
  • 2 heaped tablespoons dried Italian herbs blend, (or to desired thickness)

Recipe's preparation

    Basic Scrolls
  1. Mix flour, margarine and salt on Speed 9 for 10 seconds
  2. Add milk and mix on Speed 4 for 8 seconds
  3. Dough mode"Dough mode" knead for 2 minutes
  4. Turn out onto flat surface, sprinkle with additional flour and roll into a squre or rectangle shape (depending on quantity required)
  5. Variants
  6. Spread vegemite to desired thickness and top with shredded lactose free cheese
  7. Spread with tomato paste, sprinkle with herbs blend and top with shredded lactose free cheese
  8. Baking
  9. Roll into a rectangular or square shape (depending upon quantity you require)
  10. Cut to desired portion size (2cm width for smaller, 3cm width for medium and 4cm width for larger)
  11. Place on lined baking trays and top with extra shredded lactose free cheese, if desired, and bake for 20 minutes

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
