I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- Preheat oven to 190°C
- Butter a square 22cm tin and line tin well with baking paper (not grease-proof). Set aside .
- Place almonds into TM bowl and chop for 2 secs/speed 5. You need chunky!
- Place remaining ingredients into TM bowl "Closed lid" and cook for 8 mins/100°C/Reverse/speed 1.
- Pour into prepared tin and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly around the edges. See Chef's Tip below.
- Allow to cool in tin. Once cool, peel away paper and break into pieces.
Tip
• The mixture does continue cooking a little once taken out the oven so bear this in mind when determining if it is cooked sufficiently.
• If too dark around the edges when taken out the oven, place tin into a sink of cold water. The water must reach not more than 2cm up the outside of the tin. Leave for 10 minutes until cool. This will stop any further cooking process.
• For gifts, dip half of each piece of almond sweet into melted chocolate, once hard, wrap in cellophane or place in a pretty glass container.
• Once cooled, crush some of the Almond sweets in the TM 2 secs/speed 4. Repeat if necessary. Sprinkle over ice cream or serve sprinkled over waffles and cream.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
