Ingredients

Batter

  • 190 g good quality dark chocolate (70%)
  • 190 g Butter
  • 3 Eggs.
  • 220 g caster sugar
  • 100 g Plain Flour.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 Cadbury Creme eggs

Recipe's preparation

    1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees (160 degrees fan)
    2. Add the butter, sugar and chocolate to the bowl and melt together at 100 degrees on speed 3 for 4-5 minutes.
    3. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix for 30 seconds on speed 4.
    4. Add the flour and salt and mix again for 20 seconds on speed 4.
    5. Pour into a lined slice tray
    6. Cut the Creme eggs in half and place into the batter pushing down so the top is just proud (I found 9 halves fitted perfectly meaning I had a spare half to eat with a cup of coffee whilst it was in the oven!)
    7. Put in the middle of your oven for 30 mins or until a cocktail stick comes out virtually clean when pricked inside
    8. Lift parchmen paper out of the tray, place on a wire rack, allow it to cool and then slice into squares. I find they taste even bettper the following day... Enjoy
