- 160 grams unsalted butter
- 250 grams icing sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Add all ingredients to bowl and mix sp 5 for 30 secs or until smooth.
To pipe you may need to refrigerate before using.
Tip
This is enough to ice a 30cm cake or 24 cupcakes. Refrigerate before piping, can be coloured.
Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting is great as well- particularly with red velvet cake. Replace the vanilla with a tsp grated lemon rind or 2 tsp lemon essence.
Use full fat cream cheese. Lite cream cheese ends up too soft.

Delicious, I used 100g butter (salted) that's all I had, 150g icing sugar, grated rind of half lemon and 2tsp lemon juice. Most definitely the best cream cheese frosting recipe. This recipe is a good base to suit everyone's likes. Thanks for posting

cut the sugar back and using less butter gives a firmer result.

Oh My Gosh this was yummmmm! I added about 240gm of home made lemon butter to this receipe and it is to die for! Smearing it on my banana cake and cant wait to dive into it tomorrow with family. A+++ receipe.
