Recipe's preparation

    Apple
  1. Please note the sweetness of the filling will depend on your apples - for a tarte flavour choose Granny Smith, or try pink lady apples or a mix of both if you like a sweeter filling.

Preheat oven to 160C. Place apples in Thermomix with sugar and water. Cook for 12 minutes, 90C, Speed 1, Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" . Check that the apples are soft.

  2. Once the apples are cooked, leave the excess liquid in (this will keep the mix from becoming too dry during baking). Chop apples to desired consistency - being careful not to overprocess unless you would like a puree consistency. I like to chop mine for 5 secs, Speed 3, Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"

Add to oven proof dish (this makes about 8 servings) and sprinkle with cinnamon.

  3. Crumble
  4. Chop almonds for 6 seconds, Speed 4.

  5. Add walnuts. Chop another 4 seconds, Speed 4. Check consistency and chop a second or 2 longer if a finer crumble is desired.

  6. Add coconut, oats, sugar and drizzle honey evenly around the top of ingredients. Combine for about 20 Seconds, Speed 3, Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"

  7. Add crumble to top of apples. Cook in oven for about 30 minutes until gently browning.

Tip

Serve with yoghurt, ice cream, or custard. Yum!

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
