I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place 1 garlic clove & gluten free bread slices (roughly torn up) into mixing bowl. Chop for 10 seconds/Speed 7.

Set aside & rinse out bowl.

Add a piece of wet baking paper to the top tray of the Varoma then place chicken on baking paper. Add 700 grams of water to mixing bowl then place Varoma in position.

    Cook for 10 minutes/Varoma/Speed 1.

Then place all of the broccoli florets on the bottom of the Varoma & return the tray with chicken on top. Cook for 10 minutes/Varoma/Speed 1.

Check that chicken is cook through & broccoli should be slightly firm. If chicken is undercooked then cook for a few additional minutes until cook.  Then set aside both chicken & broccoli tossed together into an oven-proof casserole dish.

    Discard water in mixing bowl.

    Then add 2 cloves of garlic & cheese. Chop 5 seconds/Speed 8

Add remaining ingredients for white garlicky cheese sauce & cook 7 minutes/90 Degrees/Speed 4.

Cover chicken & broccoli with white sauce then cover with breadcrumbs. Then sprinkle a heaped teaspoon breadcrumbs with dried mixed herbs & bake in a moderate over for 15 minutes or until brown on top.

Tip

To make the meal go furthur, serve with steamed potatoes & carrots, which can be cooked in the Varoma at the same time as chicken & broccoli.

Also this is a great recipe to make when you need to use up left over cooked chicken (from a roast etc....). Obviously just leave out the chicken cooking part & you could cook the broccoli in the TM Simmering basket in the mixing bowl instead of in the Varoma, with same amount of water in the bowl. And cook for approximately 10 minutes or until just cooked & still firm.

Yum! To make it even quicker, I stir fry the chicken and veggies while the sauce is cooking. Served with rice, quick, easy and like Mum used to make.

This is a great recipe... I am really excited for dinner!! It smells divine.. I did try the sauce, oh yum!! Very easy! brought in the washing while the chicken and broccoli were cooking and unloaded/loaded the dishwasher while the sauce was cooking! Great for a busy Mum!

Delicious. Whole family loved it. I used 100ml of the chicken juices to replace 100ml of the milk. I'll use more of the chicken juices next time as the sauce was a bit thick. Very tasty & easy. Also added carrots to the mix.

This reminds me very much of the recipe my Mum used to make in the 70's. Even better flavour as leftovers the next day.

This is he best cheese dish I have had! I used 1 poached chicken breast and a handful of BBQ chicken, with a med to large sized broccoli. I halved the crumb and used everyday bread. There was a lot of cheese sauce and it sets like custard! Would probably increase the amount of broccoli and chicken (but I dont think I had the true amount to begin with) next time I make it. a good family meal.
