Ingredients
Marinade
- 1 Chicken Stock Pot
- Dash of white pepper
- salt to taste
- 1-2 tbsp chinese cooking wine
- 1-2 tbsp sesame oil
Chicken
- 500 grams chicken breast, cut into 1-2cm cubes
Batter
- 110 grams plain flour
- 40 grams cornflour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 175 grams water
- 1 pinches salt
Honey sauce
- 60 grams honey
- 60 grams raw sugar
- 40 grams ketchup, or tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
For frying
- vegetable oil
Garnish
- sesame seeds, roasted
- spring onions, sliced

- Mix all the marinade ingredients together
- Add the chicken, mix it so it's all covered in marinade
- Put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes
- Add all the batter ingredients to the thermomix and blend on speed 5 until smooth
- Pour the batter into the thermoserver, over the chicken
- Rinse the thermomix bowl, then put back onto the base
- Add all the honey sauce ingredients together, and cook 5 minutes, 100 degrees, speed 2
- Heat up vegetable oil in a fry pan to a medium-high heat - about 2cm deep (or use a deep fryer)
- With a tablespoon, pick up single pieces of batter-covered chicken and drop them into the frying pan
- When golden brown, remove with a slotted spoon and place onto a plate covered with paper towel
- Transfer the fried chicken onto the serving plate
- Pour the honey sauce over the chicken
- Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onions, serve with stir-fried vegetables

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
