I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

    To Make Meatloaf
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees and greece a large loaf tin or two smaller ones.

  2. Place bread in TM bowl and blitz on speed 7 for 5 seconds until fine bread crumbs.  Remove and set aside.

  3. Place onion in TM bowl and chop on speed 5 for 4 seconds.

  4. Add remaining ingredients, including bread crumbs and mix on Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 2 for 1 min.  You may need to use your spatular to help.

  5. Press your meatloaf mix into the greeced loaf tin or tins and cook in the oven for 30 mins at 180 degrees.

  6. BBQ Sauce
  7. Place all the BBQ sauce ingredients in the TM bowl and mix on speed 4 for 30 seconds.

  8. Heat the sauce for 5 mins on speed 1 at varoma temperature.

  9. Combining Meatloaf and Sauce
  10. Once your meatloaf has cooked for 30 mins, drain excess fat off the loaf.  Then drizzle the sauce all over the top. Don't worry if you can't use all your sauce.  I like to keep some by to drizzle over left overs the following day.

  11. Place meatloaf back into the oven for another 45 mins.

  12. Once cooked allow to cook slightly for 5 mins before serving.  I like to serve this with a fresh salad and fries or mash potato.

  13.

This dish can be served hot or cold, so can be made in advance.

    Enjoy.

Tip

Left overs are lovely sliced into sandwiches with a little BBQ sauce spread over the top.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

This is an awesome recipe. I don't like lamb so use all beef mince but everything else as per the recipe. Really good and my hubby loves it!

This looks awesome!  I'm looking for school lunchbox ideas.  Would it work in muffin/mini loaf tins? How long would you cook for?  It would be so nice and moist with the BBQ sauce.  Could also slice for sandwiches.

    Great recipe...even made mini loaves.

I haven't made meatloaf before. I under judged the size of my loaf pan so put some in ramekins (2)...cooked all for same amount of time and nothing dried out or burned...Very easy & tasty  tmrc_emoticons.)
