Ingredients

Filling

  • 15 grams vegetable oil
  • 1 onion brown, Quartered
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 500 grams lean minced beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable stock
  • 150 grams water
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worstershire sauce
  • 70 grams mushrooms
  • 1 red capsicum, Roughly chopped
  • 2 carrots, Roughly chopped

Mashed potato

  • 3 potatoes
  • 100 grams Milk
  • 30 grams Butter

Recipe's preparation

    Filling
  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees fan forced.

  2. Place onion, red pepper, carrot and garlic into TM bowl Closed lid"Closed lid" and chop for 5 seconds on speed 5.

  3. Add oil and saute for 2 minutes on 100 degrees, speed 1. 

  4. Add butterfly. Add mince beef and cook for 10 minutes at Varoma temperature on reverse Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"  + speed 1. 

  5. Add the vegetable stock and water, parsley, tomato paste, worcestershire sauce and mushrooms (if using). Cook for 15 minutes, Varoma temperture on reverse Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" + speed 1.

  6. Arrange the meat either in one large dish or in individual ramekins, cover with mashed potato and sprinkle grated cheese. Cook in a preheated oven for 20 minutes.

  8. Place milk & chopped potatoes in thermomix bowl. Cook for 20 minutes at 100 degrees, speed 1.

  9. Insert butterfly. Add the butter. Mash for 20 seconds on speed 3. 

Tip

This is great for children from 12 months of age. You can make up individual size portions in ramekins & freeze them. This recipe will make about 8 childrens sized portions. 

Also instead of regular potato as the topping, you can use sweet potato or a combination of both.

    Turned out great! The butterfly kept coming off so I left it off and still turned out good. I made a big pie and it got gobbled up

    This dish was really fast and easy to make, it tasted great, my daughter said it was the best 

    one I have ever made. I put potato and sweet potato on top, and also added a small tin of corn

    and some frozen peas.
