  1. 1. Rinse cavity of chicken and pat dry

    2. Prepare stuffing by placing onion, apple/pear, bread, mixed herbs, garlic, salt & pepper into TM5. Blitz on Turbo with MC in place 1 time for 1 second. Scrape down the sides and Turbo again.

    3. Insert stuffing into the cavity of the chicken and place the chicken into the varoma.

    4. Brush chicken all over with Olive Oil.

    5. Prepare spice rub by combining all remaining ingredients and rubbing into the skin of the chicken.

    6. Place 1 litres of water into the Thermomix bowl. Place the chicken into the Varoma and place into position. Cook the chicken for 50-60 minutes / Varoma / speed 2. **see tip

    7. For a golden brown skin, place the chicken into an oven preheated to 180C and roast for a further 20-30 minutes. Alternatively, leave to rest in Varoma for 10 minutes.

    8. While in oven make gravy; Place all ingredients into the TM bowl and cook for4- 5 min 90 Degrees Speed 3. [/b]Let sit for a couple of minutes before transferring to a gravy dish.

Carve up & Enjoy with your favourite vegetables.

Tip

Mash - basic book recipe 500g raw made 2 x male serves. Cooked extra 5mins and mashed extra 15sec/speed 4

** You may need to cook for longer if your chicken is larger, or if it has been bought frozen and has not be completely thawed.

Keep an eye on the water in the jug to ensure it does not get too low, this wasn't an issue when I did it but I have heard of others who have boiled the Thermomix dry.

    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
