I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Put basil and cheese in the"Closed lid" for 2-3 seconds at speed 7
2. Insert butterfly then add milk, eggs, salt and pepper "Counter-clockwise operation" for 20 seconds on speed 4 or until mixture looks well aired.
3. Meanwhile line the varoma tray with baking paper greased with the butter or margerine so that the egg mixture cannot fall through.
4. Pour egg mixture evenly into the Varoma tray, sprinkle chopped tomatoes evenly over top
3. Clean out "Closed lid" then add the hot water to "Closed lid" . With MC in, set to varoma temp on speed 1 for 6 minutes or until Varoma temperature is reached.
4. Place assembled Varoma on top of "Closed lid" . Set timer for 6 minutes on varoma temp.
5. Check if egg is set, if not continue steaming for 2 minutes at a time.
6. For Omelette - Use baking paper to carefully roll the egg to form a large omelette, cut in half and gently lift out with a spatula or fish slice.
6. For Scrambled eggs - break up with a fork
7. Serve on home made toast with butter and a sprig of herb to garnish
Tip
You can add your favourite extras to this recipe e.g. mushroom, ham by either chopping at the start, beating in the egg or sprinking over the egg mixture in the tray.
USe the spatula/fish slice to help you separate the egg from the paper.

lorore:Thanks for the feedback. Before the thermomix I had never been successful cooking omelette, always ended up scrambling it, so for me, this was the first time I had cooked an omelette so had no comparison in terms of time.
I made this after trying a steamed omelette with the egg mix beaten in a bowl rather than the thermomix so my intention here was to create a recipe that used only the thermomix.
Now I have chickens and geese so make them a lot and have learned to cook them in a pan, still beat the mix in the thermy though. I actually completely forgot about doing it in the steamer!
This was quite tasty. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 is that it took twice as long as doing it in a saucepan would have taken, and because of using the Varoma it created 3 times the number of dishes to be washed. The recipe itself is fine, though! I'm glad I gave it a try!
We made the omlette version of this for dinner tonight. The omlette was quite tasty however I found it to be very fiddly and fairly time consuming to make compared to the more traditional way in a frypan. The portions were also quite small for two people. Thank you for the recipe as I was keen to try this.
Added some Ham, and cooked for another 4 minutes. Beautiful....Thankyou
This has quickly become a go-to dinner for our family when we are lacking in inspiration, or have heaps of eggs & food to use up. very easy to make dairy free as well! Love it! Thank you!
Great flavours!! Such soft, fluffy and delicious scrambled eggs. Originally, I thought it was going to take much longer in the TM vs a stove-top pan for making scrambled eggs but for the outcome of the eggs, less cleaning and the ability to walk away and do other things in the morning, I am going to keep coming back to this recipe!! Thanks for sharing
Best scrambled eggs ever!!!!
such a quick and awesome breakfast
Definitely use butter or even better spray oil the paper but turned out nice and fluffy and light
great recipe, thanks for sharing
