Recipe's preparation

  1. Place parsley (if using) into TM bowl and chop for 5 seconds on speed 7.  Set aside.

Place onion into TM bowl and chop for 5 seconds on speed 7.  Scrape down the sides with spatula.

Add tasty cheese and grate for 8 seconds on speed 8.

Add remaining ingredients, apart from the parsley or peanuts, and mix for 20-30 seconds on speed 5, scraping sides of TM bowl with spatula once or twice.

Tip mixture into a bowl, cover and chill 3-4 hours.

Shape mixture into a large ball.  Roll in parsley or chopped nuts.  Place on a serving plate, cover and chill 2 hours or until firm.

Serve with crackers and raw vegetables.

Tip

This recipe makes a large cheese ball and can easily be halved.

Instead of making one large cheese ball, make smaller, individual cheese balls.

Turn the cheese ball into a dip by thinning down with milk - tastes very similar to french onion dip.

Light cream cheese can be used but the mixture will be quite a lot softer and more difficult to form into a ball.

This cheese ball always makes an appearance at our family Christmas meal - decorate with holly and use a Christmas doiley on the platter.

Very easy recipe to make. I had a party where I was making quite a few dishes so this took hardly any time and tasted so good

All the guests loved and commented on it. When asked of contents and I said it had blue cheese, a few guests said they didn’t like blue cheese but they were quite impressed that they couldn’t really taste it and it added a nice, different flavour to it

Absolutely LOVE this and yes, it does make heaps!  I halved it and still had plenty for two generous sized cheese balls (one to take to a friend's house for dinner, and one for us to keep - bonus!).  Fantastic and simple reciple, will make again and again tmrc_emoticons.-)

This is heavenly--especially for those of us who love blue cheese.  I halved the recipe and it still made a tonne.  Will definitely make this again...probably tonight.   tmrc_emoticons.)
