Recipe's preparation

    Marmalade
  1. Add cumquats and lemon to TM bowl and chop 5 sec/speed 5.

Pour in water and cook 10min/100 degrees/speed 2.

Add castor sugar and cook 20min/100 degrees/speed 2.

Pour marmalade into sterilised jars (see tips). Store jars in the pantry until opened, then store in the fridge once opened.

Tip

To sterilise jars, wash jars and lids in warm soapy water and dry all, upside down, in an oven at 160 degrees. To seal the lids once jars are full, do up tightly and turn upside down. Once marmalade is cooled, the lids will be sealed until opened.

To test if marmalade is cooked enough to set, put a teaspoon-full on a saucer in the fridge. If it's set within a couple of minutes, the marmalade is ready to pour into sterilised jars. If not quite set, cook marmalade for a little longer.

I was given about 100g of cumquats and I tried this recipe. I just adjusted all the quantities. My granddaughters loved it. They are now cumquats picking more from their tree to allow me to make a proper batch for them. They are very fussy about their food but the youngest, 9, is becoming a bit more adventurous. Thank you for you recipe. I managed to make half a jar and all tasting comments for very positive. Keep up the good work.

I love this recipe and am now saving it onto my TM6 in created recipes - Thanks for sharing. I like to split the cumquats to remove the seeds as a personal preference.
I was recently caravanning with my Thermomix® and bought a bag a cumquats from a market stall. Only the one bag available but it was enough for a half batch of the recipe and worked perfectly.

I blitzed the lemon and a 3cm piece of ginger to avoid chunks and cut sugar down to 400G. Turned out fantastic. Great comments helped.Smile

Thankyou for sharing and for all the tips I have made this tonight using 400g sugar I found I needed to cook an extra 5 min. I also used lime instead as I didn't have lemons. I removed the pips and put them in a small muslin pouch tied and hung on the inside just submerged under liquid after I added the sugar, so I didn't have seeds mixed in. Found this works well.

I always take care to read comments below any recipe given.....a fairly good indication as to how well a recipe will turn out. This one did not fail and I am super happy with the results.
I cooked for an additional 5 minutes than what the recipe said, also cutting the sugar down a third . Looking forward to cumquat season again next year.
    Thank you for sharing.

This was incredibly delicious! Made a half batch, used a mix of kumquat, lime & lemon, & reduced sugar. So good!
