I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Weigh hulled strawberries into the bowl. Add sugar to equal half the weight of the strawberries.
Cook for 6 minutes, 100 degrees and reverse spoon speed.
When finished store in a clean jar in the fridge for a few days. If you want to store longer, use a sterilised jar and lid.
Grandma's Strawberry Sauce
Tip
This is a great way to use slightly less than perfect strawberries. Great over ice cream, or thicken up with cornflour to make a cheesecake or flan topping.

I just made this using 400g mangoes & 100g passionfruit & it tastes great. Great easy recipe & will use alot now Summer is coming.
I've also made your White Chocolate & Raspberry Cheesecake which is beautiful & saw your Grandmas Strawberry Sauce in your notes.
Thanks for sharing these 2 great recipes. Family favourites now!
loved this recipe so much, i milled my strawberries a bit and then reduced it a bit more, i cant wait to use it in my white choc and strawberry mud cake
really beautiful---made half the ingredients with big straberries---cooked a minute longer and added mint and caramalized balsamic vinegar WOW ! and not too sweet
I also reduced the sugar by half and blended at the end as it was not as smooth as I prefer. Tastes great
I read comments first and went with raeburns variation 120g sugar, 520g strawberries and still plenty sweet enough. lbeautiful with natural Greek yogurt.
Quick and easy -but agree with tarasimone and raeburn -waaaay to sweet -will reduce sugar next time. Should have read the comments before making it )
I love this. It is pretty sweet, but I use it very minimally. Great for using strawberries that no longer look so tasty. Used it tonight on the EDC Steamed lemon cheesecake. Was delish.
lovely except wayyyyyyyyyyy too sweet. The second time I reduced the sugar right down - I used 120g sugar for 520g strawberries (instead of the 250g suggested).
