Recipe's preparation

    Grandma's Strawberry Sauce
  1. Weigh hulled strawberries into the bowl. Add sugar to equal half the weight of the strawberries.

  2. Cook for 6 minutes, 100 degrees and reverse spoon speed.

When finished store in a clean jar in the fridge for a few days. If you want to store longer, use a sterilised jar and lid.

Tip

This is a great way to use slightly less than perfect strawberries. Great over ice cream, or thicken up with cornflour to make a cheesecake or flan topping.

I also reduced the sugar by half and blended at the end as it was not as smooth as I prefer. Tastes great  tmrc_emoticons.)

I love this.  It is pretty sweet, but I use it very minimally.  Great for using strawberries that no longer look so tasty.  Used it tonight on the EDC Steamed lemon cheesecake. Was delish.

lovely except wayyyyyyyyyyy too sweet. The second time I reduced the sugar right down - I used 120g sugar for 520g strawberries (instead of the 250g suggested).
