Ingredients

  • 1000 gram Brushed Potatoes, No wax type potatoes or it will go gluey
  • 1 heaped tablespoons Vegetable stock paste
  • 100 gram margarine
  • 1 heaped tablespoons full cream milk
  • 1 heaped teaspoons salt

Recipe's preparation

  1. Peel potatoes cut into small 2-3 cms pieces and place into the varoma.
  2. add 1000 grams of water and vegetable stock paste into mixing bowl place varoma into position and cook for 20 mins on varoma temperature speed 3
  3. at this stage you can add vegetables into the steaming basket then cook for another 20 mins varoma temperature speed 3
  4. Check if the potatoes are mushy if so remove water, insert butterfly whisk and place in potatoes, butter, salt and milk. I alternate between 2.5 and 3.5 back and fourth for around 1 minute or until soft fluffy and not lumpy
  5. Enjoy

Tip

Be very sparing with you milk to much will make it runny.
Pictured with lasagna from the basic cook book but swapped the mince for skinny mixers chunky spag bol.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31).
