    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Thank you for the recipe. Very easy to follow.
    Some suggestions though:
    only 2 apples (not 3)
only 1 onion, can also be a red onion
    way less salt!!
replace the sugar with 1 tablespoon berry jam (ideally current, but others will do to)
    And:
cook much shorter! It becomes red cabbage mousse if you cook it for 45 minutes. I cooked it for 15 minutes (and you can add another 5 if needed) but you destroy the benefits of vegetables if cooked too long.
Else: if you had a tablespoon of duck fat... you'll enter master class with your dish!

Sorry to hear you were disappointed. This is the traditional recipe my mother and grandmother used and we eat it very mushy. And sweet.

But everyone likes different flavours I suppose.

Maybe try having sauerkraut, that might be more to your liking as a side dish for meat.

I cooked this dish and it turned out very mushy.

Next time I would use less oil, more balsamic, no sugar, the apples make it

sweet enough, and cook for a max 10 mins.

    I was very disappointed.
