hazelnut & orange shortbread stars
- 160 gram Butter
- 80 gram caster sugar
- 250 gram plain flour
- 60 gram hazelnuts
- 1 orange zest
- Icing Sugar to Dust

I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
grind raw sugar to make caster sugar and icing sugar for dusting,set aside
grind 60g hazelnuts,set aside
Blend butter (room temp) and sugar
add flour hazelnutmeal orange zest and blend for 30sec speed 5
tip onto thermomat and bring together to form dough shape into a disc wrap in mat and put in fridge for 30mins
preheat oven to 180 (conventional oven)
put sheet of baking paper on top dough and roll lightly till thickness of 8mm,you may need to use a little extra flour for rolling,cut into shapes and press half hazelnut into top and put trays in fridge for 30min,then bake for 10-12min until lightly golden round edges,dust with icing sugar whilst still warm.
I put them into fancy glass jars and put ribbon around lid perfect homemade gift
