Ingredients

BASE

  • 160 grams Butter
  • 150 grams Self Raising Flour, equal to 1 Cup
  • 90 grams desicated coconut, equal to 1 Cup
  • 150 grams brown sugar, equal to 1 Cup
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Caramel Layer

  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1 tsp Butter

Nut Topping

  • 400 grams macadamia nuts, cut in halves

Recipe's preparation

    Caramel Macadamia Slice
  1. Preheat oven to 180 deg C

    Line a lamington tray with baking paper



    The BASE:

    Add butter to Closed lid"Closed lid" Time 2 mins / 70 degs

    Add rest of base ingredients Time 10 secs / Speed 4

    Scrape down sides of bowl and press mix into tray and bake for 10 mins

    Remove and allow to cool

    Clean Closed lid"Closed lid"



    Caramel Layer - while base is cooling

    Add all the ingredients to Closed lid"Closed lid" and cook Time 8 mins / 90 degs / Speed 2

    Check and cook an extra minute at speed 2 if colour not to your liking - darkness

    Allow to cool a couple of minutes then spread caramel evenly over base

    Spread nuts evenly over the caramel until completely covered

    Place in oven and cook for 10 to 15 minutes and nuts are golden

    Allow to cool then place in fridge

    Cut into desired portions when completel cold.

Tip

This is a great slice to freeze - if you like you can eat it straight from the freezer

    This slice is amazing. I have been asked for this recipe off many friends. Will definitely be making again!! For some reason it won't allow me to add 5 stars but it definitely is.
