Ingredients

Peanut Butter Slice No Bake

  • 200 grams Arnott's Marie Biscuits
  • 200 grams raw sugar
  • 200 grams Peanut Butter, For the base
  • 115 grams Butter
  • 200 grams Chocolate melts or chocolate cut into pieces
  • 80 grams Peanut Butter, For the topping

Recipe's preparation

  1. Line a baking tin or slice container with baking paper (the Tupperware slice ‘n’ store containers are perfect). Set aside.

    Place raw sugar into the mixing bowl. Mill the sugar for 10 secs, speed 9.

    Add the biscuits and chop for 5 secs, speed 5. Set aside.

    Place the butter into the mixing bowl. Melt for 3 mins, 90 degrees, speed 3.

    Add the sugar, biscuit mixture and peanut butter to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 secs, speed 5.

    Empty the contents into the pre-prepared baking tin and evenly distribute to make a flat base.

    Place the chocolate and remaining peanut butter into the mixing bowl. Melt for 3 mins, 50 degrees, speed 1. Pour the contents over the base and distribute evenly. Place into the fridge and allow to set for approximately 2 hours. Slice and devour!

Tip

1. The original recipe calls for smooth peanut butter but smooth or crunchy is fine. I use my own peanut butter (pg. 279 of The Basic Cookbook)

2. To make the slice less sweet replace part of the raw sugar with extra Marie Biscuits

3. It’s up to you as to what kind of chocolate you prefer to use on the top, either milk or dark. If you use purely dark chocolate the slice will be less sweet. I prefer to use a mixture of the two.

4. This can be kept in the pantry when the weather is cooler or in the fridge in warm weather. Consume over the course of a week if you can avoid eating it all in one sitting!

5. To make the slice gluten free replace the Marie Biscuits for gluten free sweet crackers. I use butter biscuits that I make with gluten free flour (pg. 352 of The Basic Cookbook)

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
