Ingredients

Ice Cream

  • 500 g Milk
  • 60 g sugar
  • 30 g cornflour
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g roasted macadamia nuts
  • 150 g Pouring Cream
  • 150 g Creamed honey, (can be substituted with runny honey)

Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1. Chop nuts for 3-5sec / speed 5. Set aside. It is not necessary to wash jug

  2. Make automated vanilla custard recipe, normal consistency for 3-4 portions. Allow to cool completely

  3. Once cool add cream & honey. Mix for 10-15sec / speed 5 until completely smooth & combined

  4. Pour mixture, up to 4cm high, into a shallow freezable container. Place into freezer for atleast 10hrs

  5. Once frozen cut into blocks the size of ice cubes

  6. Place half the blocks into the jug for 20sec / speed 7. Add half the nuts & mix for 10sec / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 4. Transfer to Thermoserver

  7. Repeat with remaining blocks & nuts

  8. Serve immediately or place back in freezer for later

Tip

-Don’t chop macadamia too fine, you want some bigger pieces in your ice cream.

 

-Place your thermoserver in the fridge or freezer so it’s very cold by the time you add your ice cream.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

    This ice cream is delicious and so easy to make.  Everyone that tries it loves it.  I am going to make another baatch to keep in the freezer, but it doesn't last long
