I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- Insert the Whisk into the Thermomix Bowl.
Weigh-in:-
900g of quartered blood plums and 70g brown sugar. Preferably just under-ripe plums. If they are ripe you will need to reduce the cook time.
Add in the vanilla paste and ground cinnamon. - Place measuring cup on lid.
Gently warm up the fruit for 8 mins / 100 degrees / Reverse Blade, Spoon speed (slow). - If you want your fruit to thicken, then do this step. If not, you may drain out excess liquid before adding it to your pie dish.
Mix the Cornflour with a little water.
Remove the Measuring Cup and add in the Cornflour slurry.
Continue to reduce and thicken the mixture for 2 mins / 100 degrees / Reverse Blade, Spoon speed (slow).
Add or reduce time as you see necessary. - Pour your fruit mixture into your preferred pie dish or individual ramekins. Then make my Crumble Mixture topping recipe to finish off the dessert. Enjoy!

Tip
Refer to my Crumble Mixture recipe to complete your Plum Crumble recipe.
Overripe fruit will not hold its shape. Best to use ripe fruit in my roll-up recipe.
You may freeze the cooked fruit (without the cornflour slurry) to use at a later date.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
