Ingredients
- 1000 grams mussels, cleaned
- 3 cloves garlic
- --- small handful of parsley
- 40 grams olive oil
- Half an onion, roughly chopped
- half a red capsicum, deseeded and roughly chopped
- 1 large red chilli
- 50 grams white wine
- 700 grams Tomato Pasata
- 35 grams red wine
- freshly ground white pepper to taste
- Crusty Bread

I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Place garlic and parsley in the bowl chop 6 seconds/speed 5.
Add oil and saute 3 mins/Varoma/speed 1.
Add onion, chilli, capsicum and white wine, chop 4 secs/speed 5 and saute 10 mins/Varoma/speed 1.
Add tomato pastata, red wine and pepper. Place Varoma tray with Mussels in it on top of the Thermomix. Cook 20 mins/Varoma/Speed 1.
Place mussels in a bowl and pour the sauce over the top. Serve with crusty bread to mop up the sauce!!!

This has long been a favourite in our house. Usually I used mussels not in the shell, not as pretty but husband and son dont like 'bones'
This was the first time cooking mussels in the Thermomix and I was very impressed.
I don't even like mussels but my husband loves them and he thought they were sensational.
I had to throw a couple of mussels away prior to cooking (one was already open and one was cracked) but every single one of those that I steamed, opened and were cooked beautifully.
I added more chilli and with the amount of sauce this recipe generates, you could easily cook 2 kilos of mussels. 👌🏼

Yum, not too spicy - great for the kids to enjoy. I actually did 2kgs of Mussels and didn't increase the sauce and we still had left overs. Thanks for the share
Made this last night with only a couple of very small tweaks and was declared one of the best dinners ever made!!!!
Made tonight and was lovely. Not hot enough for us so will increase chilli next time . Didn't add red wine as realised I didn't have any!!
delicious sauce though would only cook mussels for 5-10mins next time
