KELLKATS TASTY TURKEY CASSEROLE
- 1 onion, quartered
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 large capsicum, roughly chopped
- 2 spring onions, white part roughly chopped, green part finely sliced and reserved for later.
- 30 grams olive oil, or any oil of your choosing
- 500 grams Turkey thigh fillets, chopped; see tips
- 300 grams potatoes, chopped into approx 3 cm sized cubes; around 3 small/medium sized potatoes
- 100 grams Celery, sliced; approx 2 large stalks
- 150 grams carrots, sliced; approx 1 large or 1 ½ medium or 2 small carrots
- 3 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves only
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable stock paste
- 2 teaspoons tomato paste
- 300 grams water
- 100 grams Pea/corn/capsicum mix, frozen
- 2 tablespoons cornflour
- vegetables of your choice

- Place onion, garlic, white part of the spring onion and the chopped capsicum in the Thermomix bowl and chop for 4 seconds on speed 5.
- Scrape down bowl, add oil and sauté for 4 minutes on Varoma at speed 1.
- Insert add chopped turkey thighs and cook for 5 minutes on Varoma at stirring speed (spoon symbol) in reverse.
- Add carrot, potato, celery, thyme leaves, pepper, vegetable stock, tomato paste and water. Place Varoma basket on Thermomix lid and cook for 10 min on Varoma, at stirring speed (spoon symbol) in reverse.
- Add frozen pea/corn/capsicum mix to Thermomix bowl and vegetables of your choice to Varoma basket. Cook for further 10 min on Varoma, at stirring speed (spoon symbol) in reverse.
- Mix cornflour with enough cold water to make a runny paste. Add cornflour paste and green part of spring onions and cook for further 5 minutes on Varoma, at stirring speed (spoon symbol) in reverse.
- Once cooked let it sit in the thermoserver for 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve with steamed vegetables from Varoma basket and fresh made bread rolls.
Tip
Coles sell a 500 gram pack, Steggle brand, chopped turkey thigh fillets in their meat section. That is what I used.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31).
