Ingredients

Marinating paste

  • 10 gram lemon juice
  • 20 gram fresh ginger
  • 20 gram tomato paste, low salt
  • 6 cloves garlic clove
  • 2 brown onions, medium
  • large handful coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoons chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoons Cumin Powder
  • 1 teaspoons turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 700 g Lamb or Beef, cut into 2cm pieces

Curry

  • 20 grams Fresh Ginger Paste
  • 2 cloves garlic clove, peeled
  • 400 grams tin diced tomatoes
  • 10 cardamon pods
  • 20 grams olive oil
  • 20 grams tomato paste, no added salt
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon quill
  • 1 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoons Freshly cracked pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 150 grams Greek yoghurt, low fat

Recipe's preparation

    Marinating Instructions
  1. 1. Add all paste ingredients (except meat) in to mixer bowl. Blend for:
    10 sec/speed 8/ measure cup in place.
    scrape bowl sides down and repeat.
    2. Marinate meat in the fridge overnight preferably or at least 6 hours.

  3. 1. Add the giner and garlic to bowl. Chop for:
    3 sec/speed 9/ measure cup in place
    Scrape bowl sides down and repeat once if needed.
    2. Add remaining ingredients EXCEPT YOGHURT to bowl, and add 100 gram water and marinated lamb. Cook for:
    20-25 mins/varoma/reverse/speed 1/ measure cup in place.
    3. Remove cinnamon quill, add in yoghurt and mix:
    10 sec/speed 2/ measure cup in place.

Tip

Increase cooking time by 5 minutes if meat is not tender.
DON'T FORGET TO PUT THERMOMIX IN REVERSE!
Serve with Basmati Rice and Roti.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
