Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Place garlic into mixing bowl and chop 3 seconds / speed 7
    2. Add flour, salt, spices and water to mixing bowl and mix 20 seconds / speed 4 to make a thick batter
    3. Scrape down sides of the bowl and leave batter to sit for 30 minutes
    4. Meanwhile, peel onions and chop in half (top to bottom). Cut each half into thin semi-circles
    5. Heat a small amount of oil in a large frying pan and sweat onions down until soft
    6. Stir cooked onions into batter mixture
    7. Leave the mixture now and set aside for 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile preheat your air fryer to 200°c, this should take around 5 minutes.
    8.
After 5 minutes spoon your bhaji mixture into silicone cupcake cases, spray with spray oil and put them in the basket of the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes.
    9. After 10 minutes remove the basket from the air fryer and turn each of the bhajis over.
    10. They can now be removed from the silicone cupcake cases to ensure they crisp well as they are firm enough to not stick together now they are half cooked.
    11. Spray them again with spray oil and cook for a further 10 minutes before serving.

Serve with yoghurt and mint dip which you can buy or easily make with fat-free yoghurt and chopped fresh mint or a little mint sauce.

    TM 6
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
