Recipe's preparation

  1. Place simmering basket onto mixing bowl lid and add 250-300 g rice, jasmine.
  2. Rinse rice under cold running water until water runs clear.
  3. Place 1000 g water and 1 tsp salt, fine into mixing bowl, then insert the simmering basket with rice.
  4. Place Varoma dish into position and place 1-2 piece sweet corn cob, Cut into quarters, evenly distributed to allow steam to circulate.
  5. Insert Varoma tray and evenly distribute 100-150 g snow peas, Trimmed to allow steam to circulate, then secure Varoma lid.
  6. Steam 13 min/Varoma/speed 4 (increase time by up to 2 min if required).
  7. Remove Varoma and place vegetables into a thermal serving bowl.
  8. Remove simmering basket with the aid of the spatula, add rice to the bowl with vegetables and cover to keep warm until ready to serve.

Tip

You can replace the sweet corn cobs and/or snow peas for your desired vegetables.

The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
