Ingredients
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 Carrots medium, cut into chunks
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1 stick Celery, cut into chunks
- 50 grams Pancetta or Proscuitto or Bacon, roughly torn
- 30 grams olive oil
- 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 pinch chilli flakes, optional
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 800 grams Fresh Tomatoes or 800 grams canned tomatoes, Quarter fresh tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 heaped tablespoons TM Veg Stock Concentrate
- 500 grams water
- 200 grams Cooked Lentils or 1 can (drained)
- black pepper
- Natural yogurt to serve
- Parsley for garnish

1. Place onion, garlic, carrot, celery and pancetta in TM bowl. Chop Speed 5, 3 secs. Scrape bowl and chop again Speed 5, 2 secs
2. Add olive oil. Cook 4 mins, Varoma, Speedsoft
3. Add cinnamon, turmeric, smoked paprika, chilli flakes (if using), tomatoes, tomato paste, Veg Stock Concentrate and water. Place Steamer Basket on lid instead of Measuring Cup. Cook 15 mins, 100C, Speed 2.
4. Puree 30secs, Gradually bringing speed up to Speed 9
5. Add lentils and black pepper. Cook 5 mins, 100C, Reverse Speed soft
6. Taste and adjust seasoning.
7. Serve with a drizzle of natural youghurt and parley.
How to make it:
Tip
For a vegetarian option, omit the pancetta and add a few roughly chopped pitted green or black olives, with the lentils.

This soup is wonderful!
Only thing I changed was to replace the lentils with Kidney beans as I didnt have any lentils in the cupboard. Blitzed a second time once the kidney beans had cooked, this thickened the soup perfectly!
